Dean of Academics
Talent Vision, a premier Staffing and Consulting firm, is partnering with a distinguished charter school in Rochester, NY, to identify a dedicated Dean of Academics for the Elementary School. As a Dean of Academics, you will play a pivotal role in supporting elementary educators through targeted instructional coaching, professional development, and collaborative planning to enhance student learning outcomes. Dean of Academics: Responsibilities for Elementary School
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies aligned with curriculum standards and school objectives.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback to support educators in refining their teaching practices.
- Lead professional development sessions focused on evidence-based instructional methods, assessment techniques, and differentiated learning approaches.
- Facilitate teacher team meetings and support data-driven decision-making to improve student achievement and address learning gaps.
- Model exemplary instructional practices by conducting demonstration lessons and co-teaching as needed.
- Assist educators in creating and adapting lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of all elementary students, including multilingual learners and students with special needs.
- Guide teachers in integrating technology and innovative resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Build trusting, collaborative relationships with school staff to foster a positive and professional learning community.
- Utilize student performance data and assessment results to identify areas for instructional improvement and coach teachers toward growth.
- Support the implementation of schoolwide initiatives and participate in school leadership teams as requested.
- Maintain thorough documentation of coaching activities, teacher progress, and professional development initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Valid NYS teaching certification for elementary grades is required.
- Minimum three years of successful experience teaching at the elementary school level.
- Proven record of improving instructional practices and student achievement through coaching or leadership roles is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of elementary curricula, instructional strategies, and current best practices in teaching and learning.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to inspire, support, and mentor a diverse group of educators.
- Familiarity with using data analysis to inform instruction and monitor progress.
- Experience designing and leading professional development for adult learners.
- Proficiency in educational technology and integrating digital resources into instruction.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic educational environment.
