About the Role
Talent Vision is partnering with a public charter elementary school in the Bronx, NY, to recruit a student-centered Master Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The Master Teacher will serve as a lead instructional teacher and mentor who models high-quality pedagogy, supports colleagues' professional growth, and ensures excellent learning experiences for all students. This role combines classroom teaching responsibility with leadership in curriculum implementation, coaching, and collaborative planning to advance academic achievement and promote equitable, culturally responsive instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction in core elementary subjects while maintaining a classroom culture that promotes rigorous learning, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices.
Model effective instructional strategies and classroom management routines; demonstrate lessons and co-teach as needed to support teacher development and student outcomes.
Provide job-embedded coaching, constructive feedback, and observation cycles for teachers and instructional staff focused on lesson design, differentiation, and assessment use.
Lead grade-level and cross-grade collaborative planning to develop coherent units, common assessments, and scaffolded materials that ensure access for multilingual learners and students with diverse needs.
Analyze student assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify instructional priorities, inform teacher supports, and recommend targeted interventions.
Support the selection, adaptation, and implementation of curriculum materials and instructional resources; pilot new materials and share evidence of impact with school leaders.
Facilitate professional learning sessions, workshops, and reflective practice groups aligned to school improvement goals and evidence-based instructional approaches.
Collaborate with special education, English learner, and other student-support teams to ensure inclusive practices, appropriate accommodations, and aligned interventions.
Build strong, culturally responsive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; communicate student progress and strategies to support learning at home.
Contribute to recruitment, induction, and ongoing evaluation of instructional staff; support a positive professional culture that prioritizes continuous improvement and equity.
Maintain accurate documentation related to instructional initiatives, student progress, and program compliance as required by the school or district.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
Valid state elementary teaching certification required; additional endorsements (e.g., reading specialist, instructional coach, or administrative) preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of successful elementary classroom teaching experience; demonstrated experience in teacher mentoring, coaching, or instructional leadership preferred.
Strong knowledge of state standards, instructional best practices, formative and summative assessment, and differentiation for diverse learners, including multilingual students and students with disabilities.
Proven ability to analyze student data and translate findings into actionable instructional plans and supports.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to culturally responsive practices and equity.
Experience designing and delivering professional development and facilitating collaborative teams.
Familiarity with instructional technology and digital tools that enhance classroom learning and formative assessment.
Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to balance classroom responsibilities and leadership tasks.
